Keith J Woodward is a figurative painter and printmaker born in Oxford in 1974, who creates oil paintings, etchings and drawings in rich and varied mediums. His passion for painting and drawing stayed closely with him from childhood, through school, college and University, graduating with an HND in Graphic design & Illustration at Southampton Institute in 1996 and a further BA (Hon) Degree in Fine Art and Printmaking at Wolverhampton University in 1998.
Since graduating he has exhibited, and won competitions and awards in London, Birmingham, Bath, Manchester, Wolverhampton, and undertaken many private commissions and sold many pieces of work all over the UK.
His inspiration is taken greatly from the old masters of the Renaissance and Baroque art. Inspiring artists include, Da Vinci, Michelangelo, Raphael, Rubens, Rembrandt and Caravaggio. Through to, more modern day Van Gogh, Edward Hopper, Lucien Freud and Peter Howson to name just a few. These artists were masters of figure drawing and painting as well the depiction of light and shade in infinite detail.
